sensory pleasures of Jim Corbett are best explored slowly with Paatlidun
(Wildlife luxury resort).
This Luxury Wildlife Lodge captures the essence of
unspoilt Nature, weaves it with Kumaoni hospitality and brings you the plushest
retreat you’ll encounter in the untamed wilds. This is as close as it gets to
the Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve. This premium luxury wildlife resort is located
at the edge of the Jim Corbett and is frequently visited by tuskers at night
and wild boars who like to dig up the grounds.
You might not be too keen to
meet them alone, but with the expert Naturalists of Paatlidun, you’ll readily
explore the enchanting sights and sounds of the forest.
DISCOVER >> Wild Life At Corbett
Wildlife enthusiasts, tourists, photographers, adventurers
and many more flock to Jim Corbett National Park to observe wildlife in its
natural habitat. Named after the famous British conservationist who lived and
worked here, Jim Corbett, the open grasslands of the National Park are teeming
with wildlife.
On safari you pass herds of deer, majestic elephants,
monkeys swinging from treetops, the unusual serpent Eagle and occasionally, if
you are lucky, the phantom cat with yellow eyes that the Park is best known
for. Corbett, indeed, is the definitive destination to spot the Royal Bengal
Tiger and as of 2015 it was home to an estimated 16 tigers. It’s a thrilling
experience to scour the jungle in search of the exotic beast that moves
stealthily in the tall grasses.
DISCOVER >> Nature Walk
Paatlidun is located on the periphery of Corbett Tiger
Reserve and is separated from it by a lone, narrow nullah. So skip across and
allow yourself to be whisked away on the wings of adventure.
The carefully curated, 3 hour Nature Walk takes you on a
hike through thick jungle undergrowth, past icy-cold, gurgling brooks and under
dangling creepers and vines. Sunlight is unable to penetrate the dense forest
canopy and it’s an ethereal feeling to walk through the forest glowing in a
soft green light. You can run through burnished autumn leaves in woods of Sal
trees that grow straight and tall, beautifully arranged on the gentle slopes of
the Shivaliks. Pause for a heartbeat to breathe in the heavy forest perfume,
examine furry insects, then ford streams on stepping-stones and catch your
breath in a shady copse.
